    Appointment availability is excellent and slots are usually available, it is advisable to book in advance.

    Dr Jean sees her patients at The Sorrels Consulting Rooms or The Manchester Clinic, in Ellesmere Road, Manchester.

  • How much will it cost?

    The fee for an initial consultation is £250, and Dr Jean will be able to explain the costs involved for any recommended procedures and follow-up appointments.

  • There is something wrong with my baby’s skin – can Dr Jean help?

    Yes! Dr Jean is experienced in treating babies and children for a variety of skin problems with excellent results.

  • I am feeling very worried about my skin problem – what should I do?

    It’s perfectly normal to feel anxious about it for all sorts of reasons, but Dr Jean will be able to put your mind at rest by quickly diagnosing and treating your problem, and answering any questions with honesty and empathy.

  • My skin problem is in an embarrassing place, will Dr Jean need to do a physical examination?

    In order to make an accurate diagnosis, Dr Jean will need to examine your symptoms but please rest assured she is a highly professional and experienced doctor who goes out of her way to treat each patient with sensitivity, compassion and dignity and she will do everything she can to put you at ease.

  • What is a consultant dermatologist?

    A Consultant Dermatologist is a specialist doctor who diagnoses and treats diseases affecting the skin, hair, and nails. All dermatologists are medically qualified, and undertake the same level of training as other doctors, but dermatologists have to do undertake additional specialist training in skin in order to be accredited as a consultant.

  • What training and qualifications does Dr Jean have?

    Dr Jean Ayer is an award winning, UK-trained consultant dermatologist and honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Manchester.
